The hotel is fully equipped with spectacular onsen baths, too. Particularly mesmerizing is the scenery seen from its rooftop infinity onsen pool. The water surface reflected what was above, mimicking the colors of the sky during the day. We couldn’t wait to immerse ourselves in the pool and pure bliss of the moment.
The infinity onsen pool has such a perfectly straight silhouette that the mountains, the hot springs, and the cityscape all look as if they’re part of the same scenery. Helped by the 360-degree view offered by the rooftop, the pool is the ideal vantage point to experience the ever-changing panorama of Beppu: awe-inspiring sunrises and sunsets, marvelous sights of the glimmering city at night, glimpses of its iconic steam trails floating up into the air, and even the city’s summer firework festival.
We found other incredible sets of views and cozy nooks on the opposite side of the rooftop. There, a jacuzzi onsen pool awaits, complete with one of the symbols of the city’s skyline, the Beppu Tower. Right next to it, visitors can also refresh in the Finnish tent sauna or choose to lie down on one of the many deckchairs available.
The 14th floor holds another pleasant hot spring surprise. There, you’ll find a vast indoor onsen that is famous for its hot spring water which makes the skin smooth and supple.
